You will be thrilled with the kitchen at the Nancy Shepherd House, and you'll love the fine breakfasts that Innkeeper David McLaughlin creates here!
William McLaughlin (1928 - 2005) was one of the best cooks around and had a love for the finest wines and foods. He learned to cook while living in Europe. He was a master on wood and gas stoves and considered any kind of work in the kitchen a fine art. We use his collection of vintage cookware and utensils for preparing
the finest meals. We also have plenty of new utensils and the following new appliances: a microwave oven, blender, coffee-maker, two toasters, waffle-irons, Maytag dish-washer, and a Samsung refrigerator.
The heart of this fine little kitchen is a brand new 36-inch Heartland Legacy model 3630 dual-fuel cook-range. Quite a number of people from around the country have come to the Nancy Shepherd House just to see this amazing cook-stove in action. William McLaughlin's dream was to install a Heartland cook-range when the restoration of the kitchen was complete, so we did in his honor.
