The bedroom level at the Nancy Shepherd house is preserved exactly as it was 200 years ago, except for the electric lights and central heat and air. If you need a bathroom with running water and don't want to use the chamber pot in the privy closet, you must go up to the third floor or down to the first floor. All the beds are from the late 1700s to the early 1900s, but sized for modern people. And they all have the most comfortable mattresses and very good pillows, soft, medium, or hard. Bring your own pillow if you like. Instead of closets in which to hang your clothes, the bedrooms have antique wardrobe cabinets, trunks, or chests of drawers. The fireplaces work perfectly and keep the rooms nice and warm for winter stays.
